1.  KISS THE FISH!!!!!!!!!!!

About 2 years ago, just after the tsunami in Indonesia, we did a fundraiser for UNICEF called "kiss the fish". We raised over $600.00 for UNICEF to use in  the areas affected by the tsunami. We chose 4 leading characters in Point roberts, including Art Wilkowski, the garbage man,Mary Edgley, a teacher from the elementary school, Lorne Neilson, the hardware store owner, and Jay Lewis, the local marketplace manager. The marketplace donated a salmon, and let us use the marketplace front entry as a place to collect donations. we would get people to vote for 1 person to "kiss the fish" ( the donated salmon) . To vote, you had to give a donation. Many people voted, and the winner was revealed as Lorne Neilson.
